As part of opening the building to the public, Narbo Via wanted to bring a museum tour to life in the heart of a Roman villa. The idea was to recreate a lapidary wall, a device inspired by the principles of industrial storage converted to the uses of contemporary museography. Thanks to a collection of nearly 700 stones, this will accompany visitors on their journey.
SOLUTION PROVIDED
The Videlio teams were interviewed as part of a competitive dialogue with the client and the scenographer to define the appropriate systems. A great deal of upstream research work was needed in order to integrate the multimedia and screens in the transcoder; also, to identify the device that best adapts to space constraints, and give the feeling of reality to this lapidary wall. It is equipped with several digital media devices. In fact, at two points on the wall, two groups of eight screens are integrated into the façade, but leaving an empty cell in their center to accommodate a block.
These screens transmit iconographic content that highlights certain blocks, providing elements of information (history of the collection, integration into an architecture, sense of iconography, etc).
